UPMC Imaging is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at a Top 10 National Pediatric Hospital System. As a Diagnostic Radiography Professional, you will play a vital role in performing imaging procedures, utilizing complex equipment, and collaborating with healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
Identify patients properly using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol when performing procedures.
Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in data acquisition.
Document patient history in electronic records, as required.
Administer PO and contrast per physician orders/department policy.
Ensure all exams are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and charges are adequately entered for exams performed.
Perform diagnostic radiography procedures utilizing established protocols/procedures without requiring constant supervision.
Utilize complex imaging equipment for image data acquisition, analysis, manipulation, and documentation, completing procedures according to protocol.
Demonstrate strong interaction skills with patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect.
Work as a team member within the department and other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.
Perform technical procedures requiring independent judgment to adjust protocols and apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic radiography purposes.
Communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner, explaining procedures to alleviate fears and solicit cooperation.
Requirements:
Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT-approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT Certified Diagnostic Technologist until the degree is verified.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist, must obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire date, CPR required based on AHA standards, Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal, Act 33 with renewal, Act 34 with renewal, Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
For Technologist Advanced: 2 years of Diagnostic experience required, must have obtained a performance review rating of Solid/Good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion, ARRT certified in Radiography, CPR required based on AHA standards, Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal, Act 33 with renewal, Act 34 with renewal, Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
