Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck Driver Class A to join our team at Dairy Farmers of America. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle and delivering products to customers in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Deliver products or assets according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations.
  • Report delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns.
  • Load and unload product as required at designated stops.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and report any problems to the driver supervisor or manager.
  • Ensure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Complete all daily paperwork fully and correctly each day.
  • Perform load inventory and document condition of freight before departure.
  • Attend all driver workshops and training sessions.
  • Use company-supported applications or systems properly.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years of experience driving a tractor trailer, straight truck, or doubles trailer, within the last 5 years preferred.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements.
  • Must meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle Records.
  • Must meet all DOT requirements.
  • Certification and/or License - valid Class A CDL; some drivers may be required to have a doubles endorsement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements.
  • Proficient computer usage.
  • Math skills for calculating load size and recording accurate volume/weight measurements.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Punctuality, follow directions, and meet deadlines.
