Job Title: Behavioral Specialist

At Memphis-Shelby County Schools, we are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Behavioral Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of our students.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Specialist will work closely with teachers, staff, and families to provide behavioral services, support, and interventions to students who require additional assistance. This role will involve coordinating diagnostic, educational, and therapeutic services, as well as providing on-going and crisis counseling and assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and provide behavioral services, support, and interventions to students, families, and educational staff.
  • Assist teachers with classroom management skills and provide on-going support and guidance.
  • Provide crisis counseling and assistance as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required.
  • Perform related professional and administrative work as assigned.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in school psychology, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in a related field.
  • A valid state driver's license.
