About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and improve site safety, health, and environmental policies and processes
  • Assist with creating and delivering safety and environmental training to team members
  • Operate as a shop floor liaison and promote a safety-oriented culture
  • Participate in Lean and Kaizen activities and directives for the plant
  • Complete accident investigations and reports
  • Ensure all PPE is on site and available as needed
  • Lead the emergency response team
  • Support the EHS Manager with BWC
  • Perform new hire orientation safety training
  • Utilize the LMS system, including documentation of training
  • Complete needed safety and environmental testing
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed and filed accurately
  • Assist with the recycling program
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 1-3 years of similar safety work experience
  • Experience supporting safety initiatives in manufacturing environments
  • Experience completing incident investigations
  • Experience performing safety training, with a willingness to create training and deliver it to large groups at a time
  • Microsoft Office, specifically Excel Skills preferred but NOT required
