Job Overview

Position Summary:

  • Responsible for the transportation of non-hazardous and potentially hazardous materials, equipment, and finished products across the United States and Mexico.
  • Provide assistance in warehouse operations and other company facilities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify all load-related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Adhere to safety protocols for the transportation of both hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of trucks, bobtails, and trailers to ensure mechanical and safety compliance.
  • Maintain accurate logs of working hours and vehicle service records.
  • Secure necessary receipts or signatures upon delivery of goods.
  • Operate trucks with a capacity exceeding 3 tons.
  • Ensure cargo is properly secured for transit.
  • Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or damages promptly.
  • Keep the truck clean and well-maintained.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections of trucks and trailers.
  • Monitor and report temperature levels on refrigerated trailers.
  • Follow designated routes and schedules.
  • Transport loads to local suppliers as directed.
  • Assist in the maintenance of trucks and trailers.
  • Exhibit regular attendance and punctuality.
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of current federal and state driver's licenses.
  • Valid US driver's license.
  • HAZMAT endorsement is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Compliance with SCT and DOT regulations.
  • Basic proficiency in English is required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Must meet medical standards as required by SCT and DOT.
  • Work is performed outdoors in varying environmental conditions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct supervisory duties.

Financial Responsibilities:

Resources will be provided for extended trips.
