Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant - Fleet is a detail-oriented, collaborative, and highly motivated team member responsible for managing the company's dynamic compliance requirements, including but not limited to accounting, fleet management, and internal controls.

Location:
Onsite - Fort Wayne, IN

Hours:
8 AM - 5 PM ET, Monday - Friday

Compensation:
This role offers a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary along with the potential for quarterly profit sharing after one year of employment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Process daily transactions related to company fleet and fixed assets, including asset capitalization, disposals, depreciation, and sales within D365.
2. Complete month-end close activities for fleet, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll-forwards in accordance with reporting deadlines.
3. Review repair and maintenance accounts for capitalizable items.
4. Assess retail and RPO sales orders for sales tax compliance.
5. Collaborate with the Parts team to resolve work order issues during capitalization.
6. Upload fleet transactions into Sage software for tax depreciation purposes.
7. Review and process parts sales and customer upfit invoices.
8. Notify fleet vendors of units disposed of from the fleet care program.
9. Review OEM rebate accounts for capitalizable equipment value discounts.
10. Maintain an accurate and updated listing of business personal property for insurance renewal.
11. Prepare files for annual machinery appraisal related to debt compliance.
12. Analyze company performance by collecting, interpreting, and presenting key reports to management.
13. Assist in audit engagements involving external tax advisors and audit staff.
14. Cross-train and serve as team backup as needed.

Requirements:
Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work under pressure in a fast-paced office environment.
- Strong team player with effective interaction skills across all business units.
- Excellent analytical and time management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Familiarity with D365 – Finance & Operations and Sage.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
