Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer/PLC Programmer is responsible for delivering exceptional electrical design for control systems utilized in various equipment. This role operates independently while receiving support from sales and engineering teams, acting as the electrical PLC expert for customer control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality electrical design and programming for control systems.
  • Utilize knowledge of engineering and manufacturing practices to ensure optimal performance.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in 3-phase motor controls, PLC programming (Siemens and Allen Bradley), and HMI screen design.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Conduct site visits to assist customers during equipment startups as necessary.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in programming Siemens or Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Experience with large rotating equipment and plastics processing equipment is highly desirable.

Skills

  • Ability to read and understand motor control ladder logic drawings.
  • Familiarity with valve control, relays, timers, and associated control equipment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of networking and internet devices is an advantage.
