We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Department at The University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the delivery of high-quality medical services.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with physicians to assess, design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patient care plans and outcomes.
- Provide complex nursing skills and delegate tasks to other care team members according to unit-specific competencies.
- Monitor the quality of patient care and patient satisfaction, and take corrective action as needed.
- Accurately and independently pursue professional development opportunities to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Assume responsibility for the daily operations of the patient care center, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of services.
- Work within accepted service standards and support the vision of Ingalls Hospital.
- Partner with other patient care team members to identify and address individual patient, family, and physician needs, exceeding expectations and employing effective customer relations.
- Know, follow, and actively support the philosophy, mission, and vision of Ingalls Hospital.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Observe and adhere to all corporate compliance requirements, communicating issues as they arise to the appropriate parties.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's degree in Nursing or higher.
- Current RN licensure in the State of Illinois or valid temporary permit to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and acute care or related experience providing nursing care to patients within the last five years.
