Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Aerial Lineman to join our team at Gudenkauf, a Congruex company. As an Aerial Lineman, you will be responsible for building and maintaining aerial telecommunications systems, including aerial and underground facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of electricity, pole-line materials, and the safe use of tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain aerial telecommunications systems, including aerial and underground facilities
  • Place and remove utility poles
  • Safely use hand tools and equipment, such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
  • Safely operate mechanized equipment, such as bucket trucks, digger derrick, excavators, and more
  • Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers, and flag traffic when required
  • Understand separation and clearance regulations
  • Plan and initiate projects
  • Trim trees and clear routes
  • Interact with customers, utility owners, and governmental officials, representing Gudenkauf in a positive and professional manner
  • Identify areas where processes and procedures could be improved to elevate the company as a whole
  • Clean and maintain all company vehicles and equipment assigned for use
  • Perform duties in standard and high-risk areas
  • Safely and successfully perform duties all year round
  • Perform physical tasks required to successfully complete day-to-day operations
  • Travel overnight to various sites as requested
Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of electricity, pole-line materials, and the proper and safe use of tools and equipment used in line construction and maintenance
  • Thorough knowledge of RUS Construction Specifications, familiar with the Aerial Safety Codes and Practices, and work methods associated with aerial line work
  • Valid Driver's License (unrestricted)
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • General knowledge of construction practices and equipment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with the crew, leadership, and clients
  • Function effectively as an integral part of a team
  • Meet physical demands – lift and/or move 50 to 150 pounds
  • Ability to perform all work outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions
Desired Qualifications:
  • CDL preferred, or willing to obtain one
  • OSHA certified
