Job Summary

Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled Lead EEG Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our EEG department, you will be responsible for leading and guiding EEG Technicians in the performance of duties, while also performing all functions of an EEG Technician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Guidance: Lead and guide EEG Technicians in the performance of duties, ensuring that all procedures are followed and that high-quality results are achieved.
  • EEG Technician Functions: Perform all functions of an EEG Technician, including interviewing patients, abstracting relevant information, and operating EEG equipment.
  • Resource and Support: Handle and/or act as a resource for difficult or complex EEG recordings, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Training and Development: Participate in orientation and ongoing training of EEG staff, ensuring that all team members have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Staff Scheduling and Prioritization: Assist management in staff scheduling, prioritizing, and assigning work based on workflow fluctuations.
  • Quality Assurance: Check equipment performance, select electrode combinations, and modify recording protocols as needed to ensure high-quality results.
  • Patient Care: Recognize and respond to patient medical issues and physiological events, ensuring the safety and welfare of patients.
  • Record Keeping: Obtain recordings, including any abnormal clinical manifestations, for physician interpretation, and create and maintain EEG and Video-EEG records.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Graduate from an accredited or formal certificate EEG program, required.
  • Certifications: Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) by ABRET, required. Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification, required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years clinical EEG Technologist experience, required.
  • Skills: Demonstrated knowledge in all aspects of EEG procedures & equipment, required. Ability to communicate effectively.
