Medical Imaging Specialist

- Work Schedule: This role is designated for weekend shifts, specifically Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM. All personnel participate in on-call duties and holiday rotations.
- POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Medical Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing high-quality imaging procedures within the parameters of state licensure, demonstrating a technical and professional level of expertise that operates independently without direct oversight. This includes conducting thorough patient assessments and applying appropriate technical factors to produce diagnostic images.
- DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
- The Diagnostic Imaging department at Samaritan Health Services employs cutting-edge imaging technology to furnish healthcare teams with essential information for swift and precise diagnoses. Our imaging services encompass X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, Bone Density, CT Scan, Digital Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET-CT, and Ultrasound.
- QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Mandatory possession of a current ARRT RT(R) credential. If registry eligible, credentialing must occur within six months of employment.
- Must hold a current, unencumbered Oregon license in Radiologic Technology. New graduates may start with a temporary license upon hiring, transitioning to a permanent license within six months.
- Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.
- Preferred experience in a hospital environment.

- Adaptability and Flexibility: Understanding of age-related differences in patient care and communication. Ability to respond promptly and effectively to urgent situations involving diverse patient populations.
- Communication Skills: Proficient in both written and verbal communication, capable of explaining complex issues and exchanging information with team members effectively.
- Confidentiality: Knowledge of and compliance with State and Federal (HIPAA) regulations regarding the confidentiality of protected health information.
- Customer Service: Familiarity with customer service principles, including needs assessment and quality standards.
- Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safety practices and procedures, with the ability to promote secure operations.
- Stress Management: Capacity to maintain composure in high-pressure situations while effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical demands include various activities such as walking, sitting, lifting, squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and manual dexterity tasks.
