Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly qualified CT Technologist to operate computed tomography scanners in our Enumclaw facility. As an Advanced Medical Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality images of patients' bodies, which will aid physicians in diagnosing conditions such as injuries, infections, cancers, and other abnormalities.
Patient Preparation and Communication- Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure, addressing their concerns, and ensuring they are comfortable.
- Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and prior imaging, to guarantee accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.
- Position patients correctly on the CT table to obtain the necessary images, prioritizing patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Instruct patients on how to hold their breath or remain still during scans, as required by the procedure.
- Operate and calibrate the CT scanner, ensuring proper settings for each scan, including parameters such as radiation dose, slice thickness, and imaging protocols.
- Administer contrast agents or dye injections (under physician or radiologist guidance) to enhance image clarity during certain CT procedures.
- Monitor the equipment during imaging to ensure high-quality images are captured and that no errors occur during the process.
- Review the CT images for quality, ensuring that all required areas are captured and the images meet diagnostic standards.
- Work closely with radiologists to guarantee that images are of sufficient quality to support diagnosis.
- Repeat or adjust scans as necessary to improve image quality or ensure comprehensive imaging coverage.
To be successful as an Advanced Medical Imaging Specialist, you will need:
- A strong understanding of computed tomography principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- The ability to maintain a sterile, safe, and clean environment in the CT room.
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and regulations.
