Computed Tomography Technologist

As a CT Technologist at Geisinger Health System, you will play a critical role in acquiring high-quality digital images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Under the general supervision of a Radiologist, you will plan and perform CT procedures using advanced technology based on clinical criteria, anatomy, and established protocols.

• Operate CT scanners, power injectors, and computer systems to acquire images for use by radiologists in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
• Maintain knowledge of all clinical histories to match appropriate protocols and knowledge of all major organ systems and vascular systems for Thoracic, Abdominal, Pelvic, Neuro, and Muscular Skeletal imaging.
• Perform CT Interventional Procedures, including CTA imaging for Carotid, Head, Vertebral, Run-Offs, PE critical bolus timing, and Advanced CTA studies such as TAVR and EVAR.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures, using protective shielding when applicable and selecting correct technical factors.
• Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology to ensure lab results are obtained prior to scheduled exams.
• Interpret technical factors to increase quality or speed of scan.

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
• Certified Radiology Technologist within 12 months - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support Certification.
