Catapult is seeking a dedicated Geomatics Field Supervisor I or II, depending on your experience level. If you are eager to advance your career in the Land Surveying sector within a supportive environment that fosters professional development and acknowledges hard work, then the Geomatics team at Catapult is the ideal place for you. This role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals with a background in Land Surveying, such as a Survey Rodman or Crew Chief. You will be responsible for supervising a survey crew across various survey types, identifying the locations of natural features and constructed elements on the Earth's surface, beneath the ground, and underwater, all while enjoying the great outdoors. The surveys you will engage with include, but are not limited to, boundary, ALTA, topographic, existing conditions, right-of-way, transmission line, transportation, construction, and more. Our Geomatics staff thrives in a dynamic work environment, tackling diverse projects, including municipal initiatives, university developments, and private/commercial ventures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage field crew and survey operations.
- Ensure the quality of work, focusing on accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity.
- Coordinate meeting schedules, budgets, and maintain responsive service to clients.
- Supervise the operation of surveying instruments and equipment while utilizing cutting-edge surveying technologies.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and the public.
- Train and instruct survey crew in surveying techniques and equipment usage.
- Represent Catapult in a safe and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's degree in surveying, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field is preferred.
- Geomatics Field Supervisor I: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as Crew Chief, Surveyor, Survey Technician, Rodman, or Instrument Operator.
- Geomatics Field Supervisor II: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience as Crew Chief, Surveyor, Survey Technician, Rodman, or Instrument Operator.
- Advanced knowledge of land surveying principles and proficiency in operating land survey equipment.
- Experience with Trimble, Leica, and Carlson equipment and software is preferred.
- NSPS Certified Survey Technician and/or Survey Intern Certification is a plus.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Ability to pass a drug test and driving record check.
- Basic arithmetic and mathematical skills for calculations, along with basic computer proficiency.
- Willingness to work outside regular business hours, including weekends and holidays when necessary, and to perform overtime as required.
- Ability to travel overnight occasionally as needed.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring future sponsorship for an employment-based visa.
Physical Requirements:
Applicants must be capable of meeting the physical demands of the role, which include squatting, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, navigating challenging terrain, and accessing construction sites in various weather conditions. You should be prepared to frequently handle and operate land surveying equipment.
