About the Role

Pilgrim's is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Director to lead our maintenance team in a pet food facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for directing and managing a team of maintenance personnel to ensure the efficient operation of our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Successfully execute all site projects within desired budget, timelines, and quality parameters.
  • Leadership and Communication: Communicate and promote the business strategy, motivate and ensure the team's commitment to achieving the organization's business goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including OSHA, FSIS, and EPA.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data trends to guide decision-making at a senior level.
  • Technical Expertise: Estimate labor required for maintenance tasks, interpret technical instructions, and work with various abstract and concrete variables.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with senior management, contractors, vendors, and suppliers to support maintenance and engineering projects.
  • Process Improvement: Propose, design, and introduce new equipment to automate processes, maximize production, and labor efficiencies while improving product quality.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years of maintenance and engineering experience or similar position in a fresh protein harvest facility.
  • Leadership Skills: Wide and deep management experience providing expert competence over 5 years with demonstrated leadership and people development skills.
  • Technical Skills: Strong electrical background (PLC, instrumentation, industrial electrical experience) preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Demonstrated history of work primarily disciplined in the rendering and animal food sector.
Work Environment

The employee is regularly exposed to hot, cold, and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration may exist. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud requiring hearing protection in all protection areas.
