• Oversight of Capital Improvement Projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget
• Management of Right of Way acquisitions, facilitating smooth project execution
• Facilitation of the Subdivision Process and inspections, guaranteeing quality and compliance
• Monitoring staff performance, providing technical direction, and delivering training to Department staff
• Investigation of citizen complaints and referrals from agencies, recommending effective solutions and collaborating with other City departments as needed

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess:

• A comprehensive understanding of modern civil engineering practices and technical procedures applicable to municipal government
• Proficiency in computer-aided design and drafting, land surveying, mapping, and Geographic Information Systems
• Strong management and administration skills to effectively oversee engineering design and construction projects
• Ability to coordinate, plan, organize, direct, and review the work of professional and sub-professional engineering personnel
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, with a Registered Professional Land Surveyor designation preferred
