The Operating Room Manager is instrumental in overseeing all operational aspects of the department, ensuring alignment with the overarching mission, vision, and objectives of the facility.
This role involves identifying and implementing cost-efficient systems that enhance departmental functions, taking into account market trends, resource availability, and patient preferences.
Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with patients, medical professionals, staff, volunteers, and suppliers is essential, with an emphasis on ongoing improvement driven by feedback from customers and team members.
Collaboration with Senior Management is key to achieving the goals of the facility, as the OR Manager supervises surgical, anesthesia, and sterile processing services, while also stepping in as an RN Circulator and Scrub Tech when necessary.
Essential Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Baccalaureate degree preferred)
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in surgical settings as a circulator
- At least two (2) years of management experience in surgery, covering preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care
- Current RN License in Texas and BLS certification
- CNOR certification is preferred
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work independently
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects effectively
- Excellent communication skills with both medical staff and physicians
