Position Overview:
The Clinical Trials Nursing Specialist is responsible for executing fundamental nursing practices, overseeing study coordination, and managing data integrity, with a primary emphasis on subject recruitment and enrollment, ensuring adherence to study protocols, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collect and accurately document clinical data from participants involved in research studies.
2. Provide comprehensive patient education regarding the research studies.
3. Facilitate the informed consent process and assist in the enrollment of participants into clinical trials.
4. Collaborate with consortium members, organize meetings, and maintain communication with participating institutions.
5. Track and document progress, schedule meetings, and distribute minutes of meetings.
Qualifications:
Education:
Must possess a Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare environment is required; experience in research is preferred.
Licensure:
A valid Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) License is mandatory.
Additional Requirements:
COVID-19 vaccination is a prerequisite for employment at Jefferson for individuals working within clinical settings or at the University. If not currently vaccinated, candidates must receive the vaccination prior to the start date of employment unless an approved medical or religious exemption is obtained.
