Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Direct and supervise the operation of the Dairy Department, including training and developing personnel.
- Merchandising and Inventory Management: Assist in ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, and inventory control, as well as building displays.
- Customer Service: Encourage and maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness, providing safe, friendly, and courteous service while engaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
- Planning and Organization: Assist in planning, organizing regular and seasonal merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
- Product Management: Rotate and face product, clean and dust shelves, process and discard outdated and spoiled products, and prevent the sale of out-of-code product.
- Procurement: Order dairy merchandise.
- Training and Development: Train, teach, and coach dairy stocking and conditioning standards.
- Support Functions: Assist with dry grocery order writing, grocery stocking and conditioning, new item processing, reclamation, and backroom inventory management.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, good leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain composure when dealing with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Physical Demands: Frequently reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 80 lbs., push and pull fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks, stand, walk, and move rapidly for long periods, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently, and may climb ladders.
- Environmental Conditions: Exposure to cleaning chemicals, varying temperatures while handling product in cold cases, coolers, and freezers, and occasional outdoor exposure.
