Job SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality mental health services to patients in various settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, and will be able to work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary.
- Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Respond promptly to consult requests from the Emergency Department and Inpatient units.
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects.
- Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health.
- Current and unrestricted PMHNP license in the state of practice.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a PMHNP, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
