As a Transportation Planning Specialist, you will be mentored by senior planning professionals and encouraged to pursue licensure as appropriate.

Job Responsibilities
  • Be proficient in the application of basic transportation planning concepts and techniques at a variety of scales.
  • Under close supervision, responsible for preparation and completion of tasks supporting our transportation planning, active transportation, and grant funding advisory practices that are responsive to project needs.
  • Collect, analyze, maintain and present data and public input.
  • Use ArcGIS Pro to analyze demographics, trends, survey inputs and spatial data and create high-quality maps and cartographic products.
  • Conduct field observations and data collection activities.
  • Development of project strategy for each project that identifies milestones, appropriate planning techniques to be applied, stakeholders, schedule and overall project objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineers to analyze technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Planning or related field.
  • 0-2 years active transportation experience in the public or private sector (including internships).
  • Proficiency in Esri GIS software.
  • Proficiency in demographic analysis of US Census data.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and oral communications skills are required.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
