Exercise Physiologist

Job Summary:

The Exercise Physiologist - Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist will work with patients challenged with cardiovascular, pulmonary, and metabolic diseases and disorders, as well as with apparently healthy populations, to enhance quality of life, manage health risk, and promote lasting health behavior change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and administer programs designed to enhance aerobic endurance, cardiovascular function, muscular strength and endurance, balance, and range of motion.
• Provide direct patient exercise session monitoring, risk reduction education, and progressive exercise prescription for patients with a wide range of clinical health conditions.
• Actively participate in the case management of patients by communicating and facilitating interactions with physicians, staff, and other departments, providing thorough documentation per regulatory requirements.
• Complete all clerical procedures related to integrating documentation for patient care and patient education.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related field.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM) certification required within 4 months of hire.
• American Heart Association ACLS certification required within 4 months of hire.
• 500 hours of practical experience in a clinical exercise program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters of Science in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related field.

Working Conditions:

• Lift 30 pounds of weight (pick up supplies, move equipment, etc.).
• Carry equipment/supplies.
• Extended hours, including sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
• On-call availability to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
