Histology Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technologist to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a Histology Technologist, you will play a critical role in preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by pathologists.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare tissue specimens by treating with chemicals, slicing with microtome, and placing on glass slide for microscopic examination and analysis.
- Responsible for reporting identified safety issues, such as hazardous environments, and medical errors.
- Assist residents in selecting proper stains for histopathology examination.
- Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in immunohistochemistry staining, tissue fixation and processing, and histochemistry staining.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and adhere to policies and procedures recommended by the Chairman of the Department of Pathology.
- High School Diploma
- 1 year full-time experience in Histopathology working under the direction of a Board certified anatomic pathologist.
- Preferred: AA/AS, ASCP Histo-tech certification.
