The Maintenance Technician is a key member of the Spartech team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities. This role requires a proactive and multi-skilled individual who can troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical devices, as well as maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete maintenance assignments with minimal guidance, demonstrating a proactive approach to minimizing equipment downtime and lost production.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical devices, dismantle and examine devices to remove and replace defective parts.
- Set up and operate shop machinery, use hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair parts and equipment.
- Install new or repair/modify electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.
- Improve reliability and up-time of all manufacturing and building equipment, taking a proactive approach to equipment issues with a preventive maintenance mentality.
- Operate forklift and aerial lift platform as needed.
- Research supplies, parts and tools needed to efficiently complete work orders.
- Assist in identifying and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts by effective utilization of a CMMS.
- Contribute to upkeep and updating of required records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, etc.
- Support the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company.
- Follow applicable Safety, Health and Environmental rules and guidelines while performing job duties.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
