Job Summary

The Staff Nurse-Ortho, Days reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adhering to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program. This role is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, utilizing evidenced-based practice to optimize patient safety and reduce medical/healthcare errors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, analyzes, and validates patient data to identify physical, psychosocial, and learning needs.
  • Develops and implements individualized plans of care, incorporating nursing, teaching, and continuum of care.
  • Provides education to patients and families, evaluating and documenting their response to teaching.
  • Participates in shared governance, committee work, and practice/department projects.

Qualifications:

  • Current experience (within past five years) or new nursing graduate (within past two years)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Illinois
  • CPR – Basic Life Support

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • One year experience in pertinent clinical specialty
  • Proficiency in second language
