We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and safety in our radiology department.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients and safely perform routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.
- Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol, including placement of IVs.
- Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and perform notification/remediation as warranted.
- Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, and other related duties.
- Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified.
- Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced certification in CT required, within one year of becoming CT registry eligible.
- Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language.
- Ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
