Job Description

SIPs Shaper/Panel Finisher

Department: Lamination

Business Unit: Porter Corp

Reports To: SIPs Production Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Compensation: Hourly

Overview

The main objective of this role is to utilize hand tools for the precise shaping of Structural Insulated Panels in accordance with technical specifications as part of the finishing phase before packaging and dispatch. This position is accountable for the final contouring and finishing of Structural Insulated Panels by employing hand tools in line with design blueprints.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fabrication of SIPs using various hand tools

2. Uphold a tidy and secure work environment

3. Ensure adherence to quality standards

4. Troubleshoot effectively in challenging scenarios

5. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes

6. Carry out additional tasks as required

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent

2. Basic construction skills

3. Ability to interpret blueprints

4. Proficient in using measurement tools

5. Experience in woodworking or carpentry


Travel Requirements

This position requires minimal to no travel

Technical Skills

· Basic computer skills

· Proven experience with EPICOR ERP or similar systems

Additional Requirements

1. Basic math and computer skills

2. Capability to lift 75 lbs.

3. Proficient in the use of power and hand tools
