Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining and preparing specimens for analysis, performing screening tests, and contributing to the general laboratory functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood and non-blood specimens for laboratory testing
  • Perform screening tests and report results
  • Process specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing
  • Prepare specimens for reference laboratory dispatch and testing
  • Resolve ambiguous and/or unusual test orders by contacting relevant personnel
  • Contribute to laboratory functions and institutional needs
  • Attend regular department staff meetings and in-service training
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory and hospital policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred
  • One to two years of experience in a Phlebotomy role
  • Previous experience or education in a health-related field helpful
Preferred Skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and certification for CPR preferred
