Job Title: Real Estate Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Real Estate Instructor to join our team at Laredo College. As a Real Estate Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching Real Estate Qualifying courses and developing curriculum to meet the competencies addressed in the fields of Real Estate.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and teach Real Estate Qualifying courses
  • Develop curriculum to address the particular area of instruction via face-to-face, virtual, and hybrid courses
  • Prepare tailored course documentation, including lesson plans, course syllabi, assignments, and quizzes/exams
  • Follow daily lesson plans to ensure quality, consistency, and uniformity of instruction and student conduct
  • Adapt to different teaching styles to accommodate the population and teaching modes
  • Keep accurate attendance records and submit required continuing education class documents in a timely manner
  • Provide students with information about the goals and requirements of each course, the nature of the course content, and the methods of evaluation to be employed
  • Measure each student's progress through the use of written exams or performance assessments essential to mastery of unit objectives
  • Be responsible for the efficient and safe operation, care, and appearance of assigned equipment, classroom/lab, and all other teaching materials
  • Must be able to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality by following FERPA standards
  • Work a flexible schedule as determined by instructional activities and course enrollment
  • Participate in training activities as needed by the department
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field appropriate for the course content taught
  • Five years of active experience as a Real Estate license holder and three years of work experience in teaching or training in Real Estate
  • Real Estate License
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Real Estate Broker
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to teach Real Estate Qualifying Courses
  • Must stay informed and up to date with the latest instructional methods, curriculum, and regulations established by the Texas Real Estate Commission
  • Must be computer literate, with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and the Internet
  • Must be able to operate online platforms, such as Zoom and Google Meet
  • Ability to navigate through a Learning Management System, such as CANVAS
  • Must be knowledgeable, mature, and concerned with the academic progress of participants
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with the program staff and participants
  • Ability to teach on weekdays and weekends, preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form, and ability to instruct and maintain emotional control under stress
  • Must demonstrate enthusiasm, be a self-starter, and a positive role model
  • Must demonstrate a strong desire to teach and help others
