Default Counselor

Adventure Credit Union is seeking a skilled Default Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our collections team, you will play a critical role in resolving delinquency and preventing losses by developing payment action plans with our members.

• Review past due loans and VISA accounts, identifying opportunities for repayment and developing strategies to prevent delinquency.
• Initiate contact with members through various communication channels, responding to inquiries and providing timely follow-up on payment arrangements.
• Collaborate with other credit union departments to effectively resolve member obligations, ensuring a positive and professional experience for all parties involved.
• Process phone payments, update member information, and identify issues contributing to account delinquency.
• Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a positive and professional attitude in all interactions.

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One to Three years of experience in collections, preferably in a financial industry.
• Customer Service experience and a proven ability to collect accounts and maintain acceptable levels of delinquency.
• Ability to be bonded and possess a valid driver's license.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the flexibility and determination to meet deadlines and goals.
