In the role of a CAD Designer at Wabash Inc, you will engage in diverse design projects. Your responsibilities will encompass utilizing CAD technology to assist Design Engineers by producing standard layouts, detailed drawings, assemblies, sketches, and diagrams. This role involves collaboration with design engineers and may also require interaction with various departments, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Design; a Bachelor's degree is advantageous
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD and PLM systems
  • Familiarity with ANSI standards
  • Understanding of ASME drafting standards
  • Experience in sheet metal design
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • SAP knowledge is a plus
  • Willingness to achieve CSWA certification; CSWP is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate models and drawings for engineering designs that meet customer and production specifications
  • Create content for Customer Parts Books
  • Identify and propose solutions to Engineers based on the provided design package
  • Implement Wabash Best Practices for CAD and PLM system interactions
  • Review standard models and drawings prior to release for usability and completeness
  • Complete Wabash Hazmat training as required
  • Understand and apply Wabash Engineering CAD standards
  • Learn and apply relevant codes and standards at a foundational level (FMVSS, 3A Sanitary Code, DOT Codes, etc., as applicable to the product line)
