Job Title: Radio Technician

NextGen Federal Systems, LLC is seeking a skilled Radio Technician to provide technical support for the Department of Justice (DOJ) United States Marshals Service (USMS) Tactical Operations Division (TOD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on support for radio and electronics equipment to ensure seamless communication operations.
  • Collaborate with USMS Deputies and Court Security Officers to integrate technological applications and enhance operational requirements.
  • Conduct studies and forecasts to establish technology for operational support of the law enforcement mission.
  • Coordinate with management and the USMS COR on projected systems, current and planned capabilities, compatibility, costs, and benefits.
  • Assist in the implementation of nationwide long-term projects in coordination with the Chief Inspector OST.
  • Evaluate proposed technical solutions for law enforcement communications and make recommendations to USMS management.
  • Identify radio communications requirements, analyze technical solutions, and implement and validate the final solution.
  • Serve as a troubleshooter and trainer to resolve operational and technical problems for radio systems users.
  • Identify technical issues with radio communications and design modifications to improve the effectiveness of the communications systems.
  • Work independently to survey areas and buildings for proper communications networks.
  • Plan, coordinate, build, and install new communication networks.
  • Identify technical failures on radio subscriber and infrastructure equipment and address/fix the failures.
  • Develop skills in new radio and/or computer hardware and software through independent study, formal training, and/or on-the-job training.
  • Demonstrate experience with the use of personal and laptop computers in the programming, operations, and maintenance of land mobile radio subscriber and infrastructure equipment.
  • Program and install IP video cameras and systems in covert and overt environments.
  • Fiber optic connections and installations.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work onsite in Morristown, New Jersey.
  • Requires a DoD TS security clearance.
