Tree Trimmer

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Climber Trainee to join our team at Wright Tree Service. As a Climber Trainee, you will assist experienced climbers in trimming and removing trees, while learning the skills and techniques necessary to become a certified arborist. Key Responsibilities: * Assist experienced climbers in trimming and removing trees using a variety of equipment, including chainsaws, pruning saws, and aerial lifts * Learn and practice climbing techniques, including ascending and descending trees safely * Develop skills in tree identification, pruning, and removal * Assist in maintaining equipment and vehicles * Participate in on-the-job training and education programs to become a certified arborist Requirements: * 3 months of experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews * Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required * Ability to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times per day * Ability to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work tasks * Ability to write, read, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information * Ability to communicate with others and represent Wright Tree Service in a professional manner * Possess the ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis * Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies * Ability to operate and service all required tools and equipment * Valid driver's license (dependent on Division and utility/contract requirements) * Must have valid First-Aid and CPR cards * Must complete and pass a Climber Trainee Performance Review Working Conditions: * Work in a fast-paced outdoor environment, often in extreme weather conditions * Work at heights, using aerial lifts and climbing equipment * Work around hazardous equipment and in close proximity to energized power lines * Work around excessive noise from machines, chainsaws, and wood chippers What We Offer: * Competitive pay and benefits * Opportunities for advancement and professional growth * A dynamic and supportive work environment Equal Employment Opportunity: Wright Tree Service is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
