Diesel Mechanic Job DescriptionFirst Student is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of school buses to ensure they are safe and reliable for our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations, to prevent breakdowns and extend the life of our vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with our diesel engines and transmissions.
- Assist with preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
- Work with our team to ensure all work orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
- At least 1 year of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience or technical school education.
- Possess a mechanic's tool set.
- Willingness to participate in ASE certification program.
