Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Chemistry Instructor to join our team at College of the Canyons. As a part-time faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching Chemistry courses and contributing to the academic success of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Chemistry courses, including lectures and laboratory sessions
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and assessments
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
  • Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Chemistry
  • OR - Master's degree in chemistry
  • OR - Any bachelor's degree in chemistry or biochemistry AND master's degree in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology, or geochemistry
  • OR - Equivalency: An official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education AND official transcripts documenting successful completion of 24 semester units in the discipline at the upper division and graduate level, a minimum of which must be 12 graduate level semester units
Working Conditions

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $88.30 per hour.
