Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Rail Engineer to join our established Rail Engineering Department in Milwaukee, WI. The successful candidate will be an integral member of a rail & civil design group, working on projects for both freight and transit clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience using MicroStation and InRoads, OpenRoads, or other BIM software. A Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation or Rail is a plus.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer
  • Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for railroad track and civil projects
  • Collecting and analyzing data under the supervision of an experienced engineer
  • Using computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems
  • Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision
  • Participating in proposal development and other marketing activities
  • Directing engineers-in-training, designers, and technicians
  • Performing quality control reviews and design checks of railroad projects

Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering + 2 years civil / rail engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. A valid Driver's License with a good driving record is also required.
