Vascular Surgery Nurse Job SummaryThis dynamic role involves assessing, coordinating, and delivering patient care during their acute care stay. The successful candidate will utilize critical thinking and clinical skills to provide competent and compassionate care to patients with various vascular conditions, ensuring smooth transitions toward discharge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests as required.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
  • Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Hold current NYS Registered Nurse license.
  • Obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Previous experience as a PCA or other nursing assistance preferred.
  • Ability to improve job performance through continuing education.
