Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our medical operations and provide strategic guidance to our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical leadership skills, a passion for delivering high-quality patient care, and a commitment to regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Clinical Leadership: Oversee medical staff, including physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure delivery of exceptional patient care.
  • Develop and Implement Policies: Create and implement policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with department managers, nursing leadership, and other stakeholders to optimize patient flow, enhance operational efficiency, and improve patient outcomes.
  • Represent Medical Staff: Serve as a liaison between medical staff and hospital administration, advocating for resources and support as needed.
  • Provide Medical Consultation: Offer medical consultation and guidance to healthcare providers regarding complex patient cases, clinical protocols, and treatment options.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and performance evaluation processes to monitor and enhance the quality and safety of patient care.
  • Stay Informed: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in medical practice and technology, and incorporate best practices into clinical operations.
  • Foster a Culture: Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous learning among medical staff and other healthcare team members.

Requirements:

  • Candidate Qualifications: Board-certified or board-eligible in ABEM, ABFP, ABIM, or AOBEM with emergency department experience.
  • Current Licensure: Current licensure as a physician in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Leadership Experience: Previous experience in a leadership or management role is preferred but not required.
  • Clinical Skills: Strong clinical skills and proficiency in acute care management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and adapt to changing priorities and situations.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work a full-time schedule with flexible shifts, including 12-hour shifts with flexibility.
