Position Overview:
- Tasked with creating and executing treatment plans aligned with the care strategy, utilizing modalities, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, transfers, and gait training, and conducting treatments with specialized equipment and assistive devices. Supervise the activities of support staff such as Physical Therapy Assistants.
- Formulate and execute the daily care plan while administering clinical interventions.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on the skills and techniques involved in the physical therapy treatment regimen.
- Guide, motivate, and ensure the safety of patients as they engage in exercises and functional tasks.
- Collaborate with physical therapy colleagues and other professionals to assess and evaluate patient data for treatment planning, adjustments, and coordination.
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions to gather and assess data regarding their responses and progress.
- Safely secure patients onto therapy equipment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical records for all patients treated.
- Oversee support personnel (therapy assistants, students, and volunteers) and participate in departmental operations (billing, scheduling, etc.).
- Uphold departmental and health system competencies.
- Ensure compliance with licensure and educational requirements as mandated by the Pennsylvania Board of Examiners.
- Licensed Physical Therapist (Required)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in Arts or Science (Required)
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in Physical Therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
- Master's degree in Arts or Science (Preferred)
