Job Summary:

ABM is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Specialist to support the daily operations of all building systems. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in HVAC maintenance and repair, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. The Building Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, responding to customer requests, and submitting and closing work orders as necessary. The successful candidate will also be required to work overtime as needed and be available to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including hard surface maintenance and repair, basic carpentry and metal work, and operating, maintaining, and repairing all facility system equipment associated with HVAC operations and mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Respond to customer requests and submit and close work orders as necessary.
  • Work overtime as needed and be available to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Assist in emergencies as needed, including emergency calls at non-scheduled hours.
  • Return all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Learns, understands, and complies with fire, safety, and other emergency practices.
  • Learns, understands, and complies with all Company and customer policies.
  • Participates in training directed at increasing job-related skills.
  • Assists in training of other employees as directed.

Requirements:
  • High school graduate.
  • 3+ years' HVAC experience.
  • Preferred related technical school certification.
  • Needs central plant experience.
  • Need Class A license.
  • CFC preferred but not required.
  • If you do not have Class A license, must obtain within first 90 days of start date.
  • Light plumbing will be required - bathrooms.
  • Need to be ok with miscellaneous tasks like painting as well.
  • Preferred two or more years of experience with commercial HVACR equipment and systems.
  • Basic knowledge of the equipment, tools, and materials used in building maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge in Office products.
  • Ability to lift and carry over 50lbs.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to keep detailed records of activities performed and complete basic reports.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and other technical documentation.
  • Ability to maintain good working relations with other staff and client contacts and employees.
  • Availability to work shifts and overtime as needed.
