JOB TITLE: Surgical Technologist
ABOUT THE ROLE: In the capacity of a Surgical Technologist at Surgery Partners, you will be integral to the surgical team, providing essential support during surgical procedures under the guidance of surgeons and registered nurses.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program.
- Certification in CPR with up to 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Experience in Orthopedics, Joint, and Spine procedures is mandatory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the readiness and maintenance of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Assist in the arrangement of surgical tools, equipment, and sterile solutions prior to operations.
- Adhere to hospital protocols and procedures for patient care before surgery.
- Prepare patients for surgical interventions, including skin and body preparations.
- Support in positioning patients correctly on the operating table.
- Monitor vital signs, assist with operating room setups, and provide necessary support to the surgical team.
- Manage instruments, supplies, and specimens throughout the surgical process.
- Operate medical devices and assist in the care of patients post-surgery.
- Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Exhibit knowledge and skills appropriate for patient care across various age groups.
- Comprehend the principles of patient development and growth.
- Skilled in nursing processes and effective communication techniques.
- Foster positive relationships with patients and fellow healthcare professionals.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods while assisting patients.
- Ability to maintain concentration for extended durations.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer usage for data entry and monitoring tasks.
