Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Sterling Design Support Services (SDS2), a unit of iQuasar LLC, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Baltimore, MD.

Job Summary:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, and review of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, control systems, medical gases, process piping, and fire protection. This role will also involve project management and client relationship management.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in scope assessment and fee preparation, including attending pre-proposal meetings.
  • Prepare mechanical design solutions using industry and constructability practices.
  • Incorporate a detailed understanding of governing codes and standards affecting the work.
  • Utilize Trane/Trace, Carrier/HAP, Microsoft Office products, CADD, BIM/Revit, and other industry software.
  • Conduct field surveys, energy audits, life cycle cost analyses, cost estimating, and energy modeling.
  • Execute construction phase review services, including submittal review, RFI responses, and changes.
  • Manage and mentor staff.
  • Work effectively in teams and independently.
  • Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate effectively with clients, co-workers, and others.
  • Adhere to design and construction budgets and schedules.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Professional Engineer License and a minimum of 10 years of experience in the design of building-related mechanical infrastructure.
  • LEED AP or equivalent.
  • Commissioning certification or experience.
