Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Crawford Memorial Hospital. As an Emergency Department Nurse Specialist, you will provide high-quality patient care, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity for a registered nurse with a minimum of 4 years of experience in emergency nursing. The successful candidate will possess excellent critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for assessing patients' physical and psychosocial needs, developing individualized care plans, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to providing exceptional patient care will make you an asset to our team.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients presenting to the Emergency Department, perform head-to-toe systems assessments, and reassess pain levels as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' needs, modifying plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain accurate documentation throughout the patient's stay.
  • Administer medications, start IVs, and monitor hemodynamic status to ensure patient safety.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and post-discharge care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and address complex issues.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A current RN license in Illinois.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • PALS certification within 1 year of hire.
  • TNCC certification within 1 year of hire.
  • CPI training completion within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with a minimum of 4 years of experience in emergency nursing and strong computer skills with proficiency in EMR programs.

Estimated Salary Range

The estimated annual salary for this position is $95,000 - $115,000, depending on experience.
