Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Primoris. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the design and implementation of mechanical systems meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and ensure compliance with mechanical datasheets, piping specifications, and plant layout standards.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineering contractors, and fabrication vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Work closely with the project team to ensure mechanical capabilities, PSM compliance, safety, and environmental requirements meet business goals and project objectives.
  • Provide primary resource support for project-specific piping and mechanical standards, equipment specification review, and spare part strategy.
  • Ensure design meets internal standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the engineering contractor in piping design and plant layout.
  • Provide guidance on rotating and fixed equipment specifications, equipment design reviews, specifications, standards, supplier recommendations, and vendor selections throughout procurement.
  • Participate in PHAs, model reviews, and mechanical reviews throughout the project design.
  • Ensure the mechanical scope aligns with site reliability and maintenance practices.
  • Lead the mechanical inspection efforts and act as the primary interface with both in-house and contract inspectors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience working closely with designers.
  • 5+ years of experience with midstream facilities.
  • 5+ years of experience with pipelines in the US.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering focused on projects in chemical, petrochemical, or refinery settings.
  • Experience with pumps, valves, traps, strainers, piping, fixed, rotating, and piping codes and standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer licensure.
