Job Summary

The Extension County Director will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the Cooperative Extension Service in the county. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and ensuring the quality of educational programming throughout the county, with primary responsibility for ensuring completion of the county Plan of Work.
  • Serving as the primary contact and managing the relationship with the District Board in the County, as well as serving as the primary contact for the County Extension Council, coordinating regular meetings, and working with committees and agents to ensure a diverse local membership.
  • Ensuring accountability throughout the County Extension service while maintaining positive public relations.
  • Supervising and/or overseeing agents and county office staff.
  • Developing strong intra-office and intra-county relationships.
  • Fostering teamwork and collaboration throughout program areas, staff, and county partnerships.
  • Responding to county and Extension issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that all youth and adults have an equal opportunity to participate in Extension programs, regardless of race, color, age, sex, religion, disability, or national origin.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and supervision experience, with a Master's Degree and at least 4 years of experience in Cooperative Extension Service.
