About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Cook/Grill Cook/Baker to join our team in Troy, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to high standards and demonstrate enthusiasm towards serving guests and colleagues.

Job Description

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking diverse dishes according to recipes and instructions while adhering to food safety and hygiene standards. You will ensure the proper storage, handling, and freshness of ingredients to minimize waste and maintain quality. Your role will involve maintaining high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes following recipes and instructions while adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ingredient Management: Ensure the proper storage, handling, and freshness of all ingredients to minimize food waste and maintain quality.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Kitchen Organization: Keep the kitchen area clean, organized, and well-stocked, including proper maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain a harmonious and productive work environment.
  • Adherence to Regulations: Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Cook or similar role in a restaurant or culinary setting.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A culinary school diploma or certificate is a plus but not required.

Salary

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
