Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Livestock Diagnostic Sales Specialist to join our team at IDEXX Laboratories. As a key member of our commercial business, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic customer partnerships with livestock diagnostic customers in North America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the efforts to close incremental new business in your sales territory for IDEXX Bovine, Swine, and Poultry Diagnostics.
  • Expand diagnostic utilization with targeted large Bovine, Swine, and Poultry Producers and Veterinary Laboratory customers in North America.
  • Evaluate, develop, and prioritize an account list across your territory.
  • Develop and maintain sales plans in collaboration with Customer, Technical, and Professional Services teammates to execute account activities and strategies in your territory.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate opportunity pipeline according to CRM requirements.
  • Provide leadership updates and forecasts supported by your CRM data.
  • Manage and facilitate IDEXX relationships with customer/corporate headquarters and key Producer locations.
  • Collaborate and deliver marketing/advertising/tradeshow and event promotion.
  • Attend strategic regional marketing and training events.
  • Participate in innovating intelligently to support the future development of IDEXX portfolio of technology and services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, scientific or advanced studies a plus. Master's degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years of proven experience successfully managing your own sales territory, preferably in the Animal Health Diagnostics, Biotechnology, Healthcare, or Human Diagnostics environment.
  • 5 or more years history of documented sales success in the Animal Health industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of outstanding sales achievement over several years in industry-related diagnostics products.
  • Ability to create and maintain strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively and appropriately influence others.
  • Ability to travel within your assigned territory for up to 70% of the time via car and air, including overnights and some weekends.
  • Candidates must reside within or be willing to relocate into California. This role covers the West Coast states (CA, AZ, NV, UT, ID, OR, WA).
  • Must live near a major airport.

  • Base annual salary target $105,000 - $120,000 / year.
