Job Overview

Veridian Tech is seeking a skilled NC Programmer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing and refining Numerical Control (NC) programs for various machine tools.

Key Responsibilities

NC Program Development

  • Analyze part prints, manufacturing operation sheets, and NX part models to create and modify NC programs for 2, 3, 4, and 5 axis machine tools.
  • Utilize NX CAD/CAM graphical system and Turbosoft + airfoil programming software for program development.

Technical Expertise

  • Provide machining and development teams with expertise on potential machining challenges and their impact on surface properties.

Program Refinement

  • Develop and refine NC programs, showcasing proficiency and initiative in program optimization.

Process Optimization

  • Determine optimal feeds, speeds, and tool selection for a range of milling applications.

Collaboration and Optimization

  • Collaborate with machine operators and Manufacturing Engineers to optimize machining processes and enhance machine tool capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering, manufacturing, technical, or related industrial fields; or a Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in similar roles.
  • 5 or more years of experience in programming 2 - 5 axis machine tools using Unigraphics and Vericut CAD/CAM software systems.
  • Proficiency in CAM languages, machining techniques, and machine tool capabilities for effective program design.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, including experience with Kaizen events or involvement in continuous improvement programs (ACE, 6S, etc.).
