Polysomnographer - Galveston Sleep Lab

We are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnographer to join our team at the University of Texas Medical Branch. As a Polysomnographer, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Perform advanced technical skills in the performance of comprehensive polysomnographic testing, analysis, and evaluation of sleep disorders.
- Collect and analyze patient information to meet patient-specific needs in conjunction with Sleep Disorders Center protocols.
- Prepare technical findings for interpretation by a sleep specialist, including tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
- Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
- Follow procedural protocols to ensure the proper collection of appropriate data.
- Provide patient education and respond to patient-related questions.
- Assist rotating students, interns, and residents.
- Maintain a high standard of medical ethics at all times.
- Assist with the maintenance of the Sleep Disorders Center accreditation via the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) through standardized protocols and quality measures.
- No experience required.
- Current BCLS, Board Certified, or Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Satisfactory completion of an Accredited Polysomnography Training Program or Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP).
- Registered in Sleep Technology through one of the following organizations: The American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM), The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT), or an equivalent examination accepted by AASM.
