Norton Heart & Vascular Institute, situated in Louisville, Kentucky, is actively seeking a fellowship-trained or fellowship-eligible cardiologist specializing in advanced heart failure to enhance its growing program. The selected candidate will become part of our Advanced Heart Failure & Recovery Program, which comprises a multidisciplinary team of over 50 professionals, including three board-certified heart failure cardiologists, eight advanced practice providers, two surgeons specializing in ventricular-assist devices, dedicated heart failure nurse navigators, a social worker, financial counselor, pharmacist, perfusionist, and coordinators for ventricular assist devices. Our seasoned team of healthcare providers brings an average of 15 years of experience in heart failure management.

About the Position
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in advanced heart failure therapies, including:
- Management of patients with heart failure exhibiting preserved and reduced systolic function
- Risk stratification for patients requiring disease management, guideline-directed medical therapy, or referrals for advanced surgical options, such as LVAD or heart transplantation
- Knowledge of device management, including implantable cardiac defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy
- Experience with heart failure monitoring technologies, including the CardioMEMS HF system, ReDS system vest, and LifeVest
- Capability to perform right heart catheterizations and endomyocardial biopsies
- Interest in both temporary and permanent mechanical circulatory support, including ECMO
- Collaboration with hospital and community initiatives aimed at reducing readmissions and enhancing post-acute care for heart failure patients
- Support and management of VAD implant patients and heart transplant recipients, including pre- and post-transplant follow-up
- Collaboration with pediatric heart specialists to provide comprehensive care for congenital heart disease and mechanical circulatory support
- Participation in national research studies related to heart failure and transplantation
- Access to telecardiology services
- Advanced practice provider first call structure
